Dysport is a cosmetic wrinkle relaxer that softens dynamic lines and creases on the face, including glabellar lines between the eyes. Much like BOTOX®, Dysport is created from a filtered type A botulinum toxin to relax or paralyze certain muscle groups in your face temporarily. When these muscle groups are relaxed, the common contractions that produce dynamic lines will be blocked, and the skin above the muscle will be smoother. This allows you to smile, frown, and make as many facial expressions as you want without causing fine lines and wrinkles. It also provides refreshed results that won't make you appear frozen. What Can I Expect During Dysport Injections?
Dysport treatments are administered in a treatment room after your consultation and exam with our providers, lasting no more than a few minutes. A numbing gel is not typically used because Dysport is given with a fine-gauge needle that creates little discomfort, but it can be provided if requested. Once the skin has been cleaned, a handful of injections will be administered across the forehead area, followed by a cold pack to lessen inflammation and bruising. Once you're through with your treatment at BA Med Spa & Weight Loss Center, you may resume your day-to-day tasks, but you should try to avoid strenuous exercise for at least a full day.
