What Should I Expect During Co2 Laser Resurfacing?
During your consultation, our team will determine how deep or intense your laser resurfacing will need to be to achieve optimal results. Patients who will be receiving deeper or more intense resurfacing treatment may be asked to use a retinoid product for 2 – 3 weeks before the C02 laser treatment. If a patient is receiving a more mild treatment, topical anesthesia will likely be used on the treatment area to help minimize discomfort. Once the procedure begins, the laser handpiece will be passed over the areas of the skin that need improvement. Pulsated energy from the handpiece creates micro-channels in the skin that the body uses to push the damaged skin out once the skin begins to heal.

About UsC02 Laser Resurfacing FAQs
How can I help my skin recover after a CO2 resurfacing treatment?
Before you leave our office, we'll provide detailed aftercare instructions to help ensure a smooth, speedy recovery. The biggest rule is to not pick or peel at your skin as it heals, as this can lead to lasting damage (including scars). You will need to refrain from any hair removal treatments (including waxing and shaving) for a few days. We're happy to recommend products you can use at home to soothe any areas that feel inflamed or sensitive after your CO2 laser resurfacing session.
Should I get laser skin resurfacing, a chemical peel, or another treatment?
During your consultation, we'll have an in-depth conversation about your goals and skin care needs before recommending a treatment that's right for you. We offer a wide variety of skin rejuvenation treatments at our BA Med Spa & Weight Loss Center, each one with its own uses and benefits. We'll be happy to help you find a treatment program to revitalize your skin.
How often should I get CO2 resurfacing treatments?
Depending on your goals and the health of your skin, we may recommend scheduling CO2 resurfacing sessions a few weeks or months apart to allow your skin to recover between appointments. Deeper CO2 laser sessions may require a lengthier recovery period. You should talk to our team about how often you're able to come back so we can take your schedule into account when building your skin rejuvenation plan.
